摘要
关于《左传》中所记述的世卿,自汉至清的历代学者,都以乱臣贼子视之,因此,对《左传》褒赞鲁国世卿季平子的记述大加批判。这是在《公羊传》"讥世卿"的经学思维下对《左传》大义的误读。近代有学者认为《左传》作者有"尊季氏"的倾向,故书中多有袒护季氏家族的言论,然以全文观之,并不尽然。《左传》记史,并非以一种绝对的是非观去看待一个阶层或一个人物,而是在具体的史事中体现其思想。对于同一人物的不同行为,作者或据周礼批判其行为,或据事实反思周礼的弊端,体现了剧变时代史家的思想张力。
Concerning ministers recorded in Zuo Zhuan,scholars from Han to Qing Dynasty regard them as treacherous court officials.Therefore they criticize severely the praise of JI Ping-zi,minister of Kingdom LU,which is a misinterpretation of Zuo Zhuan with the mode of thought of "ridiculing officials" found in Gongyang Zhuan.Modern scholars believe that the author of Zuo Zhuan has a tendency of "respecting JI",resulting in an extra amount of praise of JI's clan.However,an overview of the whole proves it is not so.The record of history in it does not treat a class or a person with an absolute concept of right or wrong,but shows their thought with concrete event.Concerning different behaviors of the same person,the author either criticizes it according to ceremony of Zhou Dynasty,or reflects the corrupt practice of the ceremony according to fact,which shows the tensile force of historian in an age of intense changes.
