Abstract Fourier transform surface enhanced Raman scattering (FT SERS) spectra of high quality were obtained for a single Langmuir Blodgett monolayer of novel nucleolipid amphiphile deposited on a silver island film prepared through a chemical procedure by using near IR exciation at 1064.1 nm. Characteristic vibration modes of the corresponding complementary nucleic acid bases which transferred along with the monolayers of nucleolipid amphiphiles onto the silver island film were observed obviously. The molecules were chemisorbed on the silver surface with the molecular mechanism leading to SERS. It is the first time that FT SERS spectroscopy is employed to investigate the monolayer of nucleolipid amphiphile deposited on SERS active silver substrates which prepared by chemical procedure.
