摘要
“新世纪大学英语系列教材”是我国普通高等教育“十一五”国家级规划教材，其中的《综合教程》共分八册。第五、六册旨在引导学生开展评判性阅读，以提高学生的思辨能力。本文以问答方式简要介绍了其编写宗旨、理念和单元结构，并就如何使用“学生用书”和“教师用书”提出了一些建议。
An Integrated English Course （Book One to Book Eight） is a major component of the ＂New Century College English Coursebook Series＂ published by Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press. This paper gives a brief description of its Book Five and Book Six, which are geared towards critical reading. It answers some questions coneerning the book structure, teaching aims, and teaching demands. Meanwhile, it offers some suggestions for teaching and learning.
