摘要
被毛泽东主席称之为"中国生物学界的老祖宗"——胡先骕博士,是一位国内外著名的学者。这位哈佛大学的博士于1940年至1944年担任国立中正大学首任校长,他精心擘划、筚路篮缕、励精图治,使这所"开创于战时,建立于战地"的大学成为饮誉全国的著名大学。缅怀这位集科学家、教育家、文学家、诗人于一身的杰出校长是有意义的。广大学子称他为我们永远的老师,是一位让人永远"记在心里的人"。写的这些是几个侧面而非全部。
Dr.Hu Xianshu,who was referred to as ＂Father of China＇s biology＂ by Chairman Maozedong,was a world-wide renowned scholar.A PHD graduate of Harvard University,Mr.Hu served as the first president of former National Chung Cheng University from 1940 to 1944.Thanks to his strenuous efforts,the university which was founded at wartime and grew in the battlefield flourished into a university of nationwide fame.It is of great significance to recall this outstanding president who was a scientist,educator,writer and poet.An eternal teacher,he was to be remembered for ever deep in ＂our heart.＂
