摘要
中法战争结束后,中、越、缅三国边界日渐分明,为捍卫疆土不为英法帝国主义所侵,作为云贵总督的岑毓英积极采取措施加强边防建设。他在中法滇越谈判中据理力争收疆土,为我方抢占有利战略地形,沿边驻防稳定边疆,汰弱留强练精兵,提高滇军的战斗力;他积极筹建电报以通信息,添设机构强化管理,完善边防设施提升防御的有效性;他在重视防务建设的同时,积极地缉拿匪徒靖边境,安抚少数民族得民心,这些措施为巩固云南边防提供有力的保障,创造良好的社会环境。
After the Sino-French War,the border line of China,Vietnam and Myanmar became clear.In order to defend the territory from the British and French imperialists,as the Yunnan-Guizhou Governor Cen Yu-ying actively took measures to strengthen border defense.During the Yunnan and Vietnam negotiation,he tried to seek territorial benefit for China.He also tried to train some soldier to strengthen the defense ability and the Yunnan troops.Meanwhile,he built communication facility to promote the effectiveness of the defense.Lastly,he tried to eliminate the bandits and appease the minority groups.All these measures helped to create a sound environment for strengthen Yunnan border defense.
