In November,1921,before the convention of Washington Conference, there happened in Beijing a bank run of China Bank and Bank of Communications. The social panic that led to the bank run was caused by the credit crisis of Beijng government and some so-called rumors. The bank run forced some insightful people to join the Beijing government in refuting the rumor and saving the two banks, which finally pulled through the crisis. Though the public opinions tend to think English people started the rumor, actually this is subjective and does not accord with the fact.
