Through the standard penetration tests (SPT) and geotechnical tests, the correlativity between the SPT parameters and physical and mechanical parameters of foundation soil of the Nanjing Subway is studied. The linear fitting formulae and related coefficients are given. The following conclusions are drawn. The compress module, bearing capacity, weight density and cohesive strength of sand soil and clay soil are directly proportional to the blow counts of SPT, most of the linear correlativity coefficients are larger than 0.95; the inner friction angle, thermal conductivity coefficient and thermal diffusivity coefficient of clay soil are directly proportional to the blow counts of SPT, the linear correlativity coefficients are larger than 0.97; the compress coefficient, hole ratio and fluid index of sand soil and clay soil are inversely proportional to the blow counts of SPT, most of the linear correlativity coefficients are larger than 0.94; the inter friction angle and horizontal infiltration coefficient of sand soil are inversely proportional to the blow counts of SPT, the linear correlativity coeffi- cients are 0.88 and 0.99 respectively; the specific heat capacity and vertical infiltration coefficient of clay soil are inversely proportional to the blow counts of SPT, the linear correlativity coefficients are 0.86 and 0.98 respectively; the physical and mechanical parameters mentioned above can be forecasted by the linear fitting formulae whose independent variable is the blow count of SPT.
