摘要
从分析大学本科教育的三项基本功能出发,对专业教育与通识教育的角色做出区分,并提出不同机构在为通识教育课程定位时,需量体裁衣。继而以香港教育学院为例,分析其通识教育定位:学生除了认识三个基本知识领域的知识、思维方式及价值之外,还应着重在道德判断、审美情怀、理解本土社会制度、关心国家以至全球等方面进行学习。
This article distinguishes the role of professional studies from that of general education after the analysis of three foundational functions of undergraduate education. It points out that each university should design and develop its unique general education program. Then the case of the Hong Kong Institute of Education is introduced, which make it clear that general education at a teacher education institution in Hong Kong should involve their students in nurturing thinking capabilities, in cultivating moral reasoning and aesthetic taste, in understanding local social institutions and culture, and in being committed to the betterment of the society.
