摘要
探讨了中国古代的弧长求法及其历史演变,比较了中日弧背术的西化历程,认为和算通过形式化走向近代,而中算家由于无法得到一般性结果,只好将弧背术全盘西化,这在一定程度上也是师法日本的结果.
Discussed the formulation of arc length in ancient China, and compared its westernizing process with that of Japanese. The opinions are that the Japanese had access to modern mathematics by way of formalization, as incapable of achieving general result, Chinese had to westernize their formulation of arc length in total,which in a certain degree was a result of following the exampke of Japan.
