摘要
翻译家郭沫若无论在翻译理论还是在翻译实践方面都给我们留下了宝贵的文化遗产,但同时也留下了某些瑕疵。从他对艺术与政治关系的处理、对翻译的认识、翻译在其事业发展中的地位、其翻译涉及的广度与深度、转译、原著研究、主观愿望与客观现实的差距、性格、成名后心态的变化等方面进行尽可能客观的分析,可以全面反映郭译的真实状况,分析造成这些瑕疵的历史原因,指出研究的目的不是翻历史老账,而是强调要从历史的角度辩证地审视这些不足,从历史中汲取精神的力量,发掘我国译学研究的新资源。
Guo Moruo as a translator has left us with valuable cultural heritages either in theory and practice, but it can not be denied that there still exist some flaws in them. This paper attempts to analyze the inadequacies objectively from the following aspects such as his handling with the ties between arts and polities, his understanding of translation, the role translation played in his professional career, the gap between his aims and reality, personal characters, unfulfilled promises and the changes of mind after he became famous so as to reveal the true states of Guo Moruo＇ s translation. This paper extends to explore and analyze the fundamental causes for these flaws. The purpose of this study is not to turn over the bygones, but to stress that a historic and dialectic approach should be adopted to examine the flaws to draw spiritual strength from history. and make best use of the historical resources for translation studies.
