摘要
"三美论"是中国古诗词英译大家许渊冲先生总结出来的古诗英译美学追求。三美之中,作为内容的"意美"本应是翻译过程中首要考虑的因素,作为形式的"音美"和"形美"次之。但是,在许先生的翻译实践中却表现出一种对形式的极端追求,以"音美"和"形美"作为翻译时先入为主的前提条件,从而导致了诸多弊端。
This thesis, based on the poetry translation theory of "three aesthetic pursuits about meaning, rhyme and form" advanced by professor Xu Yuanchong, makes a detailed analysis of the defects of the extreme expression of meaning under the limit of preoccupied form and rhyme. With the concrete examples, the author reaches the conclusion that content is still the priority in poetry translation.
