摘要
本文首先回顾了数据库技术的发展和面向对象技术的兴起，接着论述了对象关系型数据库系统在关系型数据库系统上所作的基本扩充，说明对象关系型数据库系统将成为新一代数据库系统的主流。
This paper recalls the development of database technology and the object-oriented technologyfirst,then discusses the basic extensions that is made on the relational database system to formthe object-relational database system,shows the object-relational database system will be the maintendency of the new generation datdbase system.
