摘要
“下一代Internet初期行动”是克林顿政府继NII之后发起的又一重要行动,是美国政府实现信息高速公路的一步要棋.它分三个目标实现,首先是先进网络技术的研究;其次开发下一代网络试验床,演示新技术;第三是演示能满足国家使命所需的革命性应用.这个行动对美国在科研、通信、计算机等领域继续保持领先地位具有意义,将对美国社会与经济的发展产生深远影响.美国很多著名大机构都参加这个行动,如国防部、国家科学基金委员会等,并且该计划得到了美国各大公司的积极响应,如太平洋贝尔、朗讯、MCI等.
Next Generation Internet Initial Act' is another important act initiated by Clinton government following National Information Infrastructure. It is also an essential step for American government to realize information super - highway . The organizations & institutions and fund source of next generation Internet initial act, and its implementation objectives are introduced in this paper.
