摘要
台湾问题缘起于中国内战,但其延续与持久存在,却是中美战略冲突的产物。冷战以来的美国对台政策几经变迁,但始终以美国的利益为依归。台海统一必然触动美国霸权,台海统一同时是中国复兴的战略基点。随着马英九当选与台独势力衰落,而两岸寻求和平共存,美国的对华政策将可能被迫再度调整,退出两岸纷争。维持台海现状政策已完成历史使命,有必要重估台海形势,将统一适时提上议事日程。在中国完成统一之后,中美关系才能向正常的大国关系过渡。
The Taiwan Question was originated in China＇s Civil War,but it was sustained by Sino-US strategic conflict. American Taiwan policy since the Cold War era undergoes several changes,but its purpose remains unchanged, to serve American national interest. The unification across the Taiwan Strait undoubtedly affects American hegemonic power;it also the starting-point of China＇ s rejuvenation. With the successful election of Ma Yingjiu, the decline of the separatist forces and the two sides resorting to peaceful means to solve their disputes, American Taiwan policy is forced to readjust and quit out of China＇ s internal strife. China＇ s status quo policy has performed its role ;it＇ s time to reassess the situation and put reunification on the agenda. Sino-American relations will return to normal only after China accomplishes its reunification.
