In 1858, Treaties of Trade and Friendship had signed between Japan and United States, and Yokohama thereby opened as an opening port. The Treaties recorded the fact that Kanagawa opened one port, and therefore the academic circle in China regarded the port of Yokohama and that of Kanagawa as the same one. And the expatiation in some literatures and schoolbooks are needed to be discussed. In fact, the modern Yokohama and Kanagawa are the different places. The " Open Yokohama" was advanced by the authorities of Tokugawabakufu, which begged the real issues of opening the port in Kanagawa. As a result, Yokohama opened as an opening port in the name of Kanagawa.
