摘要
对与"Urbanization"对应的三个称谓"城市化"、"城镇化"和"都市化"的使用现状进行了梳理,从英文字源的"能指"与"所指"、中文称谓的原始字义等着手做出了比较分析,并结合我国的"城市"与"城镇"概念以及城市化定义的演变等加以诠释和解读。考虑到人们长期以来的使用惯例,以及城市化的长远发展态势,在今后逐步统一使用"城市化"这一称谓将是一个比较可行的选择。
There are three synonymic words in Chinese commonly used to the English word urbanization namely Chengshihua, Chengzhenhua, and Dushihua, meaning urbanization, townization and metropolitanization respectively. The paper, makes an in depth research on the three terms through analyzing the denotation of English words and original meanings of the three Chinese words, combining the notion of city and town in Chinese as well as the evolution of the definition of urbanization. It is suggested that considering the convention and the long term development of urbanization, the word Chenshihna, meaning urbanization should gradually substitute the other two, thus unifying the title.
