摘要 基于IPv4和以太网技术构建的广播型局域网,在当前和今后较长一段时间内仍将是最主要的局域网形式,为各类组织提供用户接入服务。ARP协议在局域网通信中进行网络层(IP)地址和硬件(MAC)的映射,有着不可取代的作用。由于ARP协议依赖于广播来完成地址解析工作,又先天缺乏安全机制的考虑,给局域网的稳定和安全造成了影响,因而,ARP广播流量可以从一个侧面反映网络的运行状况,研究其特征从而进行有效的监控必将有助于提高网络的安全性和稳定性。 In the current and future period of time IPv4 and Ethernet are and would still be the main technology of LAN. In this type of LAN, the ARP protocol plays an important role, that is, implements the mapping from the network protocol addresses to Ethernet addresses, so the IP packet could be packed and transfered by Ethernet frames. However, at the same time, the ARP protocol also makes some troubles to LAN. Due to its dependence on broadcast for address analysis and its shortage of security, ARP has bad effects on the stability and security of LAN. So the much more attention should be paid to the study of flow characteristics of the ARP broadcast. Thus, effectively monitoring the state of LAN would be helpful in improving the stability and security of LAN in the near future.
