摘要
隐喻和转喻作为两种不同的认知机制,不仅有明显的差异,同时相互影响,两者之间存在复杂的相互作用。以Deignan提出的"从转喻到隐喻的五个渐变"的观点为基础,以汉英习语为例,分析习语形成和理解的认知理据,揭示了转喻和隐喻的相互作用是一个渐变性的过程,也为习语的认知研究提供一种新的思路。
As two different cognitive mechanisms, metaphor and metonymy not only differ from each other, but also interact with each other in a complex way. This paper analyses the cognitive motivation of the formation and understanding of some Chinese and English idioms on the ground of the theory of "a cline from metonymy to metaphor" proposed by A. Deignan. The paper suggests that the interaction between metaphor and metonymy is a sequential process. It also provides a new perspective for the cognitive research of idioms.
