In James Joyce's collection of short stories Dubliners, The Sister is the first story, and The Dead is the last but the most important one, and Araby is the most brilliant one. Through the analysis of these three stories, this paper tries to explore the creational motives of Dubliners, and points out that its themes are to present the paralyzed religion and the insensitive people in Ireland so as to awake the public and bring about the Irish national rejuvenation and the advancement of Irish civilization.
