摘要
周昭王南征楚国、兵败身死的史实不是人为因素,而是突如其来的地震灾害。周人信仰天命,史官对昭王地震之死事件采取避讳态度,这样处理是避免公布事件的死因引起社会骚乱,从而动摇周人的思想统治基础。
On his southern expedition to Chu State, King Zhao of the Zhou Dynasty died in an earthquake. Because the Zhou people believed in fate, the historians then avoided mentioning his earthquake - caused death. This kind of practice aimed to avoid causing social disturbance and shaking the ideological foundation of the Zhou people.
