A project for the comprehensive utilization of tail gas from calcium carbide furnaces in Harbin Huar Chemical Industry Co. , Ltd. was introduced. In the project, the waste heat of tail gas was utilized to produce steam, CO2 resulted from the conbustion of CO contained in tail gas was used to substitute for soda in the refinement of brine, and the total economic effects of 8. 366 million RMB ¥could be achieved per year.
