摘要
以往对提高流媒体服务器集群服务能力的研究仅局限于请求调度或者缓存策略上,很少考虑到两者之间的相互作用。针对当前流媒体服务中,存储系统的磁盘I/O带宽已成为制约流媒体服务集群服务能力的瓶颈之一,将基于位置感知的LARD调度策略与间隔缓存策略相结合,应用于流媒体服务,有效地提高了流媒体请求的缓存利用率,由此节省了访问存储系统的磁盘I/O带宽,达到提高流媒体服务集群服务能力的目的。实验证明,在高请求到达率的情况下,采用新策略后流媒体服务集群的服务能力得到了提高。
The previous research on improving serving ability of the streaming media server cluster focuses only on either request distribution or buffer management policy, seldom considering the interaction of them. In the current streaming media service, the disk I/O bandwidth resource of storage system has become one of the bottlenecks that restrict service ability of streaming media server cluster. This paper applies locality-aware LARD request distribution to streaming media server cluster, combining with Interval Caching as "LARD-IC" streaming media service strategy, so that the cache utilization is effectively increased, the consumption of aggregate disk I/O bandwidth for accessing storage system is saved, and the performance of streaming media server cluster is improved. Simulation results show that the service ability of the streaming media server cluster after using "LARD-IC" strategy is enhanced, especially at a high request arrival rate.
