亚洲运动会（AsianGames）简称亚运会，是亚洲地区的综合性运动竞赛会，也是亚洲体坛最大的盛会，由亚洲运动联合会的成员国轮流主办。是亚洲地区规模最大的综合性体育盛会，每四年举办一届，与奥林匹克运动会相间举行。自1951年第一届始，迄今已举办了15届。我国在1990年已成功在北京举办了第11届亚洲运动会，
The Asian Games, also called the Asiad, is a multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. The 16th Asian Games will be held in Guangzhou, China in 2010. Its official pictograms were unveiled by The Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee （GAGOC） on May 13, 2009. The Pictograms have various practical functions and serve as important carriers of the Games＇ vision and the host country＇s culture. The Pictograms for Guangzhou 2010 were inspired by the Asian Games Flame-the 56 flames representing the Games＇ 56 sports.
