"Overbearing" is a special kind of individual character and cultural spirit of the ancient literary persons in China. In all the past dynasties, there was not a lack of such personages. Du Fu claimed to "present the officer with respect and keep Confucianism" and was established as the Confucianists" literary person's model, but when we scans his life and his literary works, "the Poetic Sage" has extremely unruly side too. Du Fffs overbearing was neither like that of Ruan Ji in the Jin Dynasty, nor was it like that of the "the Poetic God", Li Bai, in the flourishing period of the Tang Dynasty. Du Fffs "overbearing" shows that he was very confident of his own life and that he was persistently pursuing the ethical ideal and the social ideal. His overbearing was a realistic and proactive one.
