摘要
在指出传统数据库管理系统的缺陷中讨论了ＯＯＤＢ发展的根源，将其与传统的数据库系统进行了对比，并重点介绍了传统数据库向对象型数据库发展的两大策略和方法，最后以名为ＸＤＯＯ－ＤＢ和ＯＮＴＯＳ的两个实际的ＯＯＤＢＭＳ产品为例。
This paper points out the defects of traditional data base management system. It probes the source of OODB development, and compares it with the traditional data base system. It focuses on the two strategies and methods of developing object-oriented data base from traditional data base. Finally, by illustrating the concret OODBMS products——XDOODB and ONTOS, it gives an account on how to make the data base products in accordance with two developing strategies.
