摘要
小句关系,指的是语篇表层结构中小句(或小句复合体)内部意义的建构和句际关系的确立,是人们借助邻近小句或上下文对小句关系或小句复合体的解释。根据Tyler&B ro(1992),小句关系的正确构建直接影响到语篇的可理解性程度。本文根据语篇分析中的小句关系理论对30篇英语专业大一学生的英语作文进行分析,探讨了造成学生英语作文逻辑思维混乱的主要问题。针对学生英语作文中所渗透出的小句关系构建问题,笔者认为,英语写作教学应该及早地进入篇章层次上的教学,特别要努力寻求适当的教学方法以正确处理写作训练与思维训练的关系问题,流畅性与准确性的关系问题,以及内容教学与形式教学的关系问题等。
The clause relation refers to the interconnectedness between clauses or clause complexes, or rather "the shared cognitive process whereby we interpret the meaning of a clause or group of clauses in the light of their adjoining clauses or group of clauses". In accordance with Tyler & Bro( 1992 ) , micro-discourse features( such as clause relations) affect the comprehen- sibility of text. This paper takes 30 compositions as the data to explore the ways Chinese college freshmen construct clause relations in forming English texts. The writer proposes that discourse writing should be started with freshmen even on the first day of their college life. And discourse writing should try to seek solutions to the problems such as the relation between teaching content and form, the balance between fluency and accuracy, as well as the teaching of thinking and writing skills.
