Romanticism, together with realism, has generally been recognized as creative methods in domestic academic circles. However, historically speaking, the formation of this concept was much more complex. It was a comprehensive cultural and ideological trend, popular in Europe at the turn of the 19th century. "Romantic", as the core concept, reveals its source, background and evolution. Deep-rooted in the fiction in the Middle Ages termed as "Romance", it reflected the rise of nation-countries included in the "Imagined Communities" and their regional common language. Romantic literature, defended by romantic literary theorists, brought about the concept of romanticism as a creative method.
