摘要
Channel catfish （Ictalurus punctatus） is one of the major cultured freshwater fish species in USA. One thousand five hundreds of the fish with an average length of 1.83 cm were introduced to China by Hubei Provincial Fisheries Research Institute from USA in 1984, and its artificial breeding was successful in June 1987.
