Contrastive study on Chinese and Western teaching methodologies

摘要 This paper is to reiterate the importance of culture acquisition in learning English by comparing such four language teaching methodologies as curriculum, teaching materials, teaching approaches and assessment between China and Western countries. Then it points out that EFL education reform in China, in the sense of culture teaching, has a long way to go. The paper finds that the real application for English teaching is how to practice the culture infusion in English teaching.
