摘要
腰斩《红楼梦》、贬低否定后四十回的现象正从红学界通过大众媒体向外扩散。这是值得关注的问题。后四十回对《红楼梦》的普及、广泛流传有不可替代的作用,它保全了《红楼梦》,这是一个不能低估的功绩。不能把"脂批"作为评论和否定后四十回的根本依据。也不能用前八十回作尺子,衡量后四十回并贬低和否定后四十回。更不能根据不确定的材料,进行"可能"之类的推理而否定后四十回。一些红学研究正将《红楼梦》非文学作品化,红学研究泛娱乐化、文本解读神秘化,使红学失去应有的学术品格。
The phenomenon isolating the forty chapters of A Dream of Red Mansions from the other eighty chapters and degrading the value of the part is being spread outside from the Redology field by various media. The last forty chapters play an irreplaceable role in the popularization and dissemination of the novel. By making the sto- ry to be perfect, their achievement cannot be underestimated. The criticism of Zhi Yan Zhai cannot be regarded as the basis to appraise or negate the book. We should not weigh the last forty chapters with the first eighty chapters as the standard. Still less, we should not carry out possible reasoning to negate the part with uncertain materials. Besides, the tendencies in Redology of studying the book as a non-literary work, putting over entertainment in the study and mysteriously interpreting the text make the Redology to be losing its academic character.
