摘要
爱伦·坡的短篇小说创作和短篇小说理论将短篇小说提升到能作为独立文体存在的高度,并且在美国形成了良好的短篇小说传统。爱伦.坡的短篇小说往往采用框架式结构、自指式结构和网洞式结构,这些结构的共同机制是结构与解构并举,具有双重化的效果,从而极大地扩充了短篇小说的容量,并赋予其小说多种解读的可能性。
Edgar Allan Poe＇ s creation and theory of the short stories have promoted the short story to a genre in its own right and helped form a good tradition of short story creation in the U.S. Poe＇ s short stories often adopt the frame structure, the self-reflexity structure and the net structure which share the same mechanism of the simultaneous construction and deconstrc- tion to realize the double effect. The capacity of a single short story by Poe is thus greatly enlarged and it invites multiple interpretations.
