摘要
番禺市地处珠江三角洲的核心，位于穗深港和穗珠澳２条经济走廊的结合带上．番禺在珠江三角洲的主要功能是：传统制造业和高新技术产业基地；交通枢纽；鲜活农产品的生产、加工、销售区域；消遣。
Proceeding from Panyu citys geographical location, economic status and its relation with ground areas especially with Guangzhou and Hongkong, this paper analyses Panyus function and its economic development orientation.The main functions of Panyu city in Pearl river delta are:a traffic pivot; base of the tradition manufacture and high technological industries; area for fresh and live agriculture products production, process and sale; area of recreation and spending holidays for the people of big cities.
