摘要
陈瑞琳,旅美新移民作家、文学评论家,访谈对北美华文文学现状作了宏观扫瞄与论述。陈瑞琳认为:一、海外华文学不可能消亡,会产生一代又一代的新移民文学;二、在北美,华人用英文创作的文学正在取得越来越显著的成绩,并且得到了主流文坛的高度重视,但华人社会更关注华人用华文创作的文学;三、在海外,几乎所有的新移民作家,其创作的首先冲动就是源自于“生命移植”的文化撞击。
The interview with Chen Ruilin, a famous Chinese American new immigration writer and literary critic, offers a macroscopic description of the current situation of Chinese literature in North America. Chen Ruilin thinks that firstly the new immigrant literature will develop strongly generation after generation, instead of dying out; secondly, although Chinese writers in North America are obtaining remarkable success in literature by writing in English and are drawing more attention from the mainstream literary arena, the Chinese community pays more attention to the overseas Chinese literature; finally, almost every new immigrant writer has his own inspiration originated mainly in the cultural impact of ' life transplanting'.
