摘要
本文回顾了20世纪语言学的发展进程,揭示了从句子语法到篇章语法的发展脉络。布拉格学派是现代篇章研究的先驱,随后的Firth、Halliday从理论和实践两方面丰富了篇章研究,同时,俄罗斯、欧洲大陆也开展了轰轰烈烈的篇章研究。在美国,语篇分析也发展到了篇章语法。中国的篇章语法则更是源远流长,前途无量。
This paper examines the development in linguistics in the twentieth century and exposes the turn of the focus of study from sentence to discourse,or the turn from sentence grammar to discourse grammar. The Prague School linguists were the pioneers of discourse study in the modern period,Firth and Halliday afterwards further elaborated on the theory and practice of this study,and there were similar movements in Russia and the European continent. In the US discourse grammar developed on the basis of discourse analysis. And in China,there has been a long tradition of discourse study,which promises an even brighter future in the years to come.
