The basic structure and working principle of potentiostat are introduced. The errors in the potential control of potentiostat are analyzed, and the progress of research on ptentiostat is discussed in terms of solution-resistance. The applications of electrochemical detection systems based on potentiostat are described and the prospect of potentiostat is forecasted.
