Yinglian, also called duilian, refers to the Chinese couplets written on the Symmetrical pillars of buildings, and is a special kind of literary style in Chinese culture. The esSence of couplets lies in equal numbers of Chinese characters contained in the two lines of symmetrical poetic Sentences, with corresponding written characters and similar grammar.
