摘要
约翰.福尔斯的小说《法国中尉的女人》以丰富的叙事层次和声音塑造出神秘多变的女性形象萨拉。借鉴西方女性主义叙事学对叙事话语与性别身份关联的研究和整体细读的方法,从性别叙事的角度重新解读萨拉的女性形象,分析福尔斯如何在男性叙事语境中还原一个从文化他者到独立主体的新女性形象,并借此窥探福尔斯作为一个人文主义者的女性观。
In The French Lieutenant＇ s Woman, with the use of multi - level narrative layers and narrative voice,John Fowles creates a mysterious and unpredictable woman image Sarah. This paper employs the theories of feminist narratology and the method of overall close reading in reinterpreting the image of Sarah in the perspective of gendered narration and analyses Fowles＇ delineation of the transmutation of modem woman from a cultural other to an independent subject to cast light upon Fowles＇ s feminist view as a humanist.
