胰腺部分切除或胰管结扎可以诱导成年大鼠胰腺再生。然而,由于实验模型不同,用胰岛再生能力和方式不尽相同。β细胞再生主要来自β细胞增殖、肥大和新生。某些激素和营养素如葡萄糖、胰岛素、胰升糖素样肽-1(GLP-1)和一些生长因子可刺激β细胞再生。众所周知,β细胞数量和体积对糖尿病的发生发展及愈后至关重要,因此β细胞再生可成为糖尿病治疗的新靶点。
Ligation of the pancreatic duct or partial pancreatectomy have been shown to induce islet cell regeneration in the adult rat pancreas. However, in the pancreas, both the capacity and the mechanisms of regeneration may differ significantly depending on the experimental model. Beta ceil regeneration can result from beta cell proliferation, hyperplasia and neogenesis. Certain hormones and nutrients such as glucose, insulin, GLP- 1 and a series of growth factors can stimulate beta cell regeneration. It is well known that the number and size of functional beta-cells in the pancreas is of critical significance for the development, course, and outcome of diabetes. Therefore, beta-cell regeneration has been proposed as a possible new treatment for diabetes.
