Objective: To discuss the clinical value of modified modus operandi in reducing incision accretion after thyroid operation. Method: Retrospectively reviewed 286 cases of thyroid gland operation during February 1999 to October 2008 in our hospital, which received low portion small incision, preservation of anterior neck muscles and modification of drainage tube. Result: The modified modus operandi was used in the group to improve surgical treatment, the successful course of treatment, less bleeding, no hose on the recurrent laryngeal nerve injury, wound healing beautiful, no incision adhesion, and all the patients were discharged. Conclusion: The modus operandi has the advantages of reduced operation damage, significantly lower incision accretion rate and shortened operation time, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
