摘要
传教士报刊《察世俗每月统记传》的出现,拉开了中国近代报刊史的序幕,在中国的报刊发展史甚至是新闻传播史上都是一个值得书写的大事件。从该报刊进入中国的时代背景、宣传策略、宣传内容等几个方面,阐述了它对中国近代文明的构建所产生的巨大作用,即开启国人智慧,推动历史变革,为国人的新闻理论及办报实践提供参考、借鉴。
The launch of Viewing the World, a missionary monthly, was the prelude to the history of the Chinese modern newspapers and a great event in the development of Chinese newspapers and very important in the history of Chinese journalism. This paper analyses the role Viewing the World played in the construction of the Chinese modern civilization in terms of the times when it entered China, its publicity tactics and what it publicized. It enlightened Chinese pople, accelerated the historic reform in China and provided the Chinese with the journalism theory and practice for running newspapers.
