摘要
徐继畬是中国近代化进程中一位重要历史人物,是一位以开放的心态、开放的思想认识中国、认识世界的优秀中国人,他一生最大的贡献在于撰写了全面客观介绍世界的著作《瀛环志略》。徐继畬的开放思想形成与其所处的时代相关,更与其早年博学多闻、后来在福建等沿海省份与西方人广泛接触的实践活动相关;徐继畬超越了传统的羁绊和束缚,思想开放的程度大大超越了同时代的官僚和其他思想家,成为最早步入国际政治舞台的中国人。社会转型时期,不同的思维、不同的方法带给中心政治人物的命运差别很大。研究徐继畬的开放思想与中国近代化进程,依然能够给今人提供有益的启示和借鉴。
Xu Jiyu, an important historical figure, was an outstanding Chinese who had a knowledge of China and the world with his open mind. As a person of wide information, the formation of his open ideas was closely related with that time as well as with his practical activity in coastal provinces such as Fujian and close contact with Westerners; at that time, he went beyond the trammels of traditional ideas, beyond other officials as well as other thinkers and became the first Chinese who stepped into international political stage ; in the transitional period, different ideas and ways would decide different fates of central polictical figures, his open ideas are great inspiration to us.
