摘要
Zhu Xi was one of the most ardent critics of Chinese Buddhism during Song dynasties. He differentiated Neo-Confucianism and Zen-Buddhism from different angles, ontology, idealism, the theory of soul-nature,and the self-cultivation.This severe differentiation between Confucianism and Buddhism constitutes the main characters of his criticizing Buddhism.Based on the Confucian ethical standard,Zhu Xi advocates Confucian doctrines in an absolute and uppermost position. This is,in my opinion,an orthodox value judgment and cultural ideal, which aims at the reconstruction of the declining Confucianism. From the syncretic trend of the three Learning of Chinese traditional philosophies, the Neo-Confucian school of Lu Jiuyuan and Wang Yangming is more mature and consummate than the Neo-Confucian school of Cheng-Zhu.
