引经理论建立在中药归经理论基础上并与方剂理论相结合,其讨论范围也比一般药物归经理论的范围要广。每味中药都有其特定归经但并不是每味中药都是引经药。引经药可以改变其他药物的作用取向或部位,或将诸药药力集中于某一部位,也可以引导气血和病邪。
The theory of guiding medicinals, based on channel tropism theories and closely related to formulary theories, have a wider scope than that of the general theories of channel tropism of medicinals. Guiding medicinals is a collective term for those altering other medicines＇ action tropism or sites, or direct all other medicines to act on one particular point, or leading qi, blood or pathogen.
