Ted Kooser is the Poet Laureate of the US in 2004-2006 and the winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 2005.Based on the author's email interview with Kooser and the translation of his poems from Delights & Shadows,the paper outlines and analyzes the content,theme,and characteristics of Kooser's writing,and explores the formation of his style.Kooser advocates poetry in life and insists on finding materials for poetry from daily life,thus making poetry writing both amusing and inspiring.His poems are plain and precise,accessible and wise.As a poet laureate,he has made special efforts to expand the readership of poetry.
