BPM(Beam-Propagation Method) is an iterative solution of the scalar Helmholtz equation. It is used to calculate light amplitude distributions in fibers or waveguidesThis paper introduces the numrical algorithm that uses BPM to calculate thick lenses and simulates coherent optics system. It is important for the design of coherent optics system.
