摘要
希腊女神阿芙洛狄忒(Aphrodite)是西方一个重要的文化符号,她既是崇高的春天之神、爱情之神,同时,她又是充满原欲之神、淫荡之神,该符号的"神格"出现了"文明"与"野性"之间的巨大张力。这一巨大张力常使国人感到百思不解。这个在以"伦理"为轴力的中国"文化范式"看来充满背谬、分裂的神格,当将其置入以"命运"为轴力的西方"文化范式"时,却是一个亲和、谐调、逻辑的统一体。
Aphrodite, the Greek goddess, is an important icon in the Western culture. She not only symbolizes spring and love, but also sex and carnality. Though commouly accepted in the Western culture, Aphrodite is viewed in the Chinese culture as a serf-contradictory goddess, who is full of tension between civilization and barbarism, and who baffles a large number of Chinese. From the different symbolic meanings of Aphrodite within the two cultural contexts, we see that symbolism is culturally related. That is to say, the cultural mode is the best interpretation of its symbols.
