摘要
埃克瓦尔是美国藏学研究的开创者之一,他的藏学研究主要涉及三个方面:藏区人类学调查、萨迦派的政治体制研究和藏戏研究。尤其是他对安多藏族牧区的人类学研究成果,现已成为从事藏区人类学研究者不可或缺的参考书目。本文拟通过对埃克瓦尔主要学术著作的介绍和评述,从而探索美国早期藏学研究的历程和特点。
Robert. B. Ekvall is one of the earliest scholars of Tibetan studies in the United States of America. His research on Tibet mainly focuses on three important fields: anthropological study in Tibetan area, polity of Saskya regime under Yuan dynasty and Tibetan opera. In particular, his anthropological study works of A'-mdo Tibetan area have been indispensable reference for researchers and students in this field. This paper attempts to explore the early history of Tibetan studies in America through introducing and commenting of representative works of Tibetan studies by Mr. Robert. B. Ekvall.
