摘要
济慈书信对于我们准确把握济慈研究中的一些问题具有重要意义,如济慈死因。人们通常认为,济慈虽患肺病,但主要死于当时文评界对其《恩迪米昂》的恶意诋毁;然而,这种观点恐失之偏颇。再如其变色龙诗人的诗歌理论,即诗人必须隐弃自我,消融个性,以将自我渗透于客体之中,从而实现物我同一的化境。三是其诗歌,可谓内容广博,风格多样,除"美"以外,尚有其他。对于类似问题,济慈书信均予人以诸多重要启示;因此,研读济慈书信对于我们研究济慈其人其诗不无裨益。
Keats＇ letters are of great importance to an accurate understanding of some issues in Keats ＇ study. One is the reasons for Keats＇ death. People traditionally believe that although Keats suffered from tuberculosis, he died primarily of the malicious attack from the contemporary literary circles upon his Endymion. This viewpoint might be biased however. Another issue concerns Keats＇ poetic theory of ＂the camelion poet＂, which argues that the poet must negate.the self and eliminate his character so as to infiltrate the self into the object to realize the identity of the self and the object. A third issue is Keats＇ poetry, which is extensive in content and varied in style, containing other elements apart from ＂beauty＂. For issues like these, Keats＇ letters furnish many important inspirations. Reading Keats＇ letters, therefore, is beneficial to our study of Keats the man and his poetry.
