Principle of Linguistic Relativity, non-technically also known as the Whorl-Hypothesis or the Sapir-Whorf-Hypothesis, is actually a descriptive axiom for the relation of language to thinking. By the American anthropological linguists within the Boasian Tradition, this axiom, as an important theory, was formulated upon the base of an understanding that human languages are of diversity. For a period of decades, the scholarly world has made expounding and interpretations of various kinds on the theory accordingly, hence its current significance. This paper, in perspective of anthropological linguistics, presents an exploration of the origin and evolution of the principle. And furthermore, it makes an examination of the framework of references and conceptions of the principle.
