十八十九世纪伴随着英国资本主义的迅速发展,英国逐步成为了世界头号大国,其发展有着多方面的原因,其中基督教新教伦理与资本主义的独特精神起到了不可替代的作用。在此时代背景下,笛福刻画的《鲁滨逊漂流记》中鲁滨逊是世界文学中的一个重要的资产阶级正面典型形象,他的经商活动、荒岛生活以及信仰变化无不带有该时代的特征,表现了在这一时代背景下资产者的精神风貌。对小说中鲁滨逊形象的分析有助于理解该时代资本主义的发展。
With the fast development of British capitalism, Britain gradually became the most developed country inth eighteenth and the nineteenth century. The development is due to many reasons, of which one dispensable part is the protestant ethic and the special spirit of its capitalism. Max Weber claimed that, the protestant ethic was the first motive force of the capitalist economy. The character, Robinson Crusoe, created by Daniel Defoe was an important character in this historical stage, whose business affairs, life and religious faith all have the characteristics of this period. Through the analysis of the character of Robinson Crusoe, deep understandings of the capitalist development of this stage can he got.
